Cancellation Rights / Withdrawal Policy
What you can cancel, when, and with whom — including how the statutory 14-day withdrawal right applies to helicopter charter bookings made in the UK.

1. There is nothing to cancel with us
Silverschade Ltd does not sell flights and does not take payment. You therefore have no contract with us to cancel. This page is published so that you understand your rights against the provider you do contract with, and so that you know how to withdraw consent to our processing of your data.
2. The statutory 14-day right
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, a consumer who buys services at a distance (online or by telephone) generally has 14 calendar days from the day after the contract is concluded to withdraw without giving a reason and without penalty.
3. The important exemption for dated flights
Regulation 28(1)(h) removes the 14-day right for contracts for the provision of transport, leisure or catering services on a specific date or during a specific period. A helicopter flight booked for a named date and time normally falls within this exemption, which is why charter operators can and do apply their own cancellation charges from the moment of booking.
Open-dated experience vouchers with no fixed flight date usually do carry the 14-day right. Always check the provider's terms before you pay.
4. If you began the service within the 14 days
Where the withdrawal right does apply and you asked for the service to begin during the cancellation period, the provider may charge you a proportionate amount for what was supplied before you cancelled.
5. Typical charter cancellation ladders
Terms vary by operator, but UK charter cancellation scales commonly look like this:
- More than 14 days before the flight: deposit forfeited.
- 7 to 14 days before: around 50% of the charter price.
- Less than 48 hours before: up to 100% of the charter price.
These figures are illustrative only. The provider's own written terms govern your booking.
6. Cancellation by the operator, and weather
Flights are cancelled or delayed when weather, air traffic control, airspace restrictions or technical issues make them unsafe or impossible. The pilot in command has final authority. Operators normally offer a free reschedule or a full refund where they cancel; this is standard practice and is usually stated expressly in their terms.
7. How to cancel a booking
Contact the provider you booked with directly, in writing, quoting your booking reference, and keep a copy. Do not send cancellation notices to us: we cannot action them and forwarding them may delay your cancellation.
8. Withdrawing consent given to us
